Two Pigs on Parade designed by Dawn Ferencak and students of
the Ferencak School of Art

On Wednesday, June 7, the Avenue Business Association of Oak Park launched Pig Parade on the Avenue, an outdoor public arts installation of 17 custom-designed fiberglass pig sculptures along the streets of the city's historic shopping and dining district. Each of the uniquely painted "swine" sculptures has been sponsored by an area business or organization, and designed by an area artist.

Dawn Ferencak's pig is titled "Le Cochon" and is sponsored by Café Le Coq. A second pig titled "Swine Lake" was designed by Ferencak students Susan Anderson, Susan King, Susan Matta, Michelle Donat, Maia Gillet, Pat Skinner. The second pig is sponsored by the Wednesday Journal.

The Pig Parade is free, open to the public and will be available for viewing through September. The parade will culminate on October 8 with a fundraising auction at Pleasant Home in Oak Park to benefit Hephzibah Children's Association and the Oak Park Area Arts Council.
